However, you should first be assessed by a professional to see not only the types of devices that you need but the specific measurements as well. The right type of devices, but of the wrong size, etc., are just as dangerous as not using them at all, if not more so. That professional is an occupational therapist. An OT will also help you to find the right products and to find any funding assistance that may be available to you.

How to Remove Ceramic Bath Accessories From Walls, With Minimal Damage?

There's just caulking around them (towel racks, bath tissue holders), I can see no visible screws or anything, no idea how they're attached to the walls, very little 'demolition' experience haha =o)





I've tried experimenting on one of the tissue holders that was mounted to a vanity by cutting the caulking with a box cutter then trying to crow bar it off, but with a fair bit of force it showed no signs of coming off, so I left it alone till I could find more info.

They are likely attached with adhesive. I would give them a quick strike with a hammer to see if you can pop the adhesive loose.





Even if you tear up a bit of the drywall, you can repair that pretty easily with drywall compound.
If there is tile around it, it's attached with adhesive or mortar. regardless, use a grout saw (purchased at Home Depot) or a Dremel tool to saw out the grout. slip a flat head screw driver or thin chisel down into the grout line pointed into the back of the fixture. LIGHTLy tap with a rubber mallet until the chisel slips down into the adhesive or mortar behind the fixture. pry slightly but don't try to pry it off the wall. Just pull until you feel a little give. Then return the chisel to the original position and tap again with the mallet. Slowly you should gain depth, each time prying a little more until either the fixture comes off or you sink the entire length of the chisel into the mortar, in which case you will wiggle it back and forth and pry at different angles until it pops off. If it's mounted to wood the screws may be on the other side of the wood screwed INTO the fixture and you won't be able to pop it off. You ll have to access the other side and unscrew it. Worst case scenario: cut it out with a saws-all and patch the wall.
It's possible that the holders are mounted to metal brackets, which in turn are screwed into the vanity itself. If so, you'll find screws recessed into small openings along the base of each holder. Loosen those and the holders will slide off, revealing the brackets.





But with the way you've described it, the things may simply be glued on with adhesive or thinset. Since you can't get them off with your prybar, try to drive a putty knife in there using a hammer. Any cosmetic damage to the wall can be smoothed out with Polyfilla or something similar (http://www.lepageproducts.com/products/detail.asp?catid=25%26amp;subid=57%26amp;plid=310), then painted.

It depends on what type of accessories. Floor mats %26amp; towels or soap, toothbrush holders. If you are speaking of true accessories (soap %26amp; toothbrush holders) I would go with a white trimmed in silver or black. If you are speaking of linens I would consider a white towel. If you sew you can add ribbons of several different patterns or solid colors. A leopard print ribbon would look really great or solid colors of pinks, greys or black. Just be careful of your wall covering choice. The one you picked seemed to have a felt finish. A felt finish in a bathroom will not work very well because of the humitity. There are wallpaper designs like what you have picked that are embossed so that you can paint the paper and the designs are dominate.
i would say a royal looking gold but no yellow it reminds people of bumble bees.

Of Course it depends on your taste , but most of my clients like ';shades of white'; a brochure found at most paint depts. or stores.They are pastel colors. What seems to work best since oak is a neutral color, find a lighter shade of your bath towels or a decorative piece you plan to use in your bathroom . If your master bedroom is the room your bath opens from then bring the colors from that room in muted tones to your walls in the bath. If you use deep shades of a color in a small space keep it to one wall preferably one behind a mirror or bright light so it is an accent to the room not making the room feel smaller. You can use just about any pastel shades, I mixed my own aqua marine using a base of turquoise and added a considerable amount of white white,and get load of compliments on the unusual color,Also have oak fixtures, except for chrome tp holder which installs into the wall, makes more space, and looks good too.
Can't tell you what colors to use but do what I did when I couldn't decide what colors to make my bathroom. I picked out a great framed artwork and worked around the colors in the picture. In fact, I worked around the whole theme of the picture, which in my case was roman gothic. The room came out gorgeous and I was very pleased. Try it and everything will fall into place.

I painted mine a beautiful shade of blue, I have oak trim around the windows, door, and baseboards. And then I went for a nautical theme. I have found some boarder with sailboats on them and cut the boats out and scattered them around on one wall, then I have small sailboats that have hooks on them for your towels above the toilet. and all other kinds of things that I have found at yard sales that fit with my theme. Total cost of my re-do for my master bath was around $50.00 including paint, primer, brushes, etc

I just searched for about 10 minutes myself with no luck!! There was a dollar store site I found that had some bath paint that was TMNT but other than that.. I'm thinking you could just paint it to match, find him a TMNT toothbrush and find some TMNT fabric from your local store and then just simply sew a shower curtain for him to hang out of the tub with a plastic liner on the inside to protect that fabric. Maybe you can find a border somewhere but it'll just take some searching, try to be creative!

I assume that you would like to keep things as cheap as possible, therefore I give a few easy recipes with ingredients you should already have in the house. You might have to buy a tiny bottle of essential oil and/or food coloring.





Vanilla essence will produce a very nice smell and also a soft caramel shade. Most women and men love the sweet smell of vanilla.





Use the same essential oil and food coloring in everything so that all the fragrances will work together and everything will match in color also.





Bath Salts:


Buy coarse salt you use in the dishwasher, add just a FEW DROPS food coloring and some essential oil like rose, lavender, grapefruit or whatever you think you mom will like. Throw it into a nice glass jar.





Thick Body Lotion:


Buy a tub of Aqueous cream, add some vegetable or technical oil and some of the same essential oil you used for the bath salts. Decant it into a nice wide mouthed glass jar.





Body Scrub:


Mix equal amounts of white sugar and any vegetable oil (olive, sunflower, almond, grape etc) in a wide mouthed jar. Color with food coloring and add essential oil for fragrance.





Bath Oil:


Pour technical oil in a nice tall glass bottle, color with vegetable coloring and add essential oil for fragrance.





Add organza ribbons to the jars and bottles to match the food color you used. Arrange everything in a box/basket/tray/etc and cover with cellophane in a matching color. Add a flower or ribbon and a nice hand written card.





Mom will love it (and you too) and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. Enjoy yourself while making it.

i used to work at Target, and the store will put the discontinued items on clearance first,) try looking at the back racks of the aisle). if they still don't sell, they put them in the back storage room, and ship them off to who knows where. but, try asking an associate to look for some in the back. i'm pretty sure they have something.Where can I find discontinued bath accessories from Walmart or Target?
You can find them right in those stores now. All of their stuff is discontinued, it is why they can sell cheaper.
Have you tried looking at their websites for more info? I found a discontinued comforter on the Wal-mart website.

I need to make it match. I'm not a fan of the orange.

3. Outdoorsy - Leaf greens and yellows

You may not be able to paint, but add a focal point in the colors you choose to draw the eye away from the orange. Perhaps a picture with the new colors.

Oh dear, I'm afraid your choices are pink in the same faded pastel, turquoise, or the dreaded avocado green.





Here's a rental trick you can try though - Wallpaper!





If you can find it, get some wallpaper you like with the type of backing that you have to apply glue to (not the kind that you just wet) and tack it to the wall (not glue) with upholstery tacks. (Or whatever is handy.) When you move out, you just have little pin holes to fill and touch up. And, as most bathrooms in rentals are small, this project should take about an hour, shopping included.
Blue would look awesome - light, dark or anything in between - depending on the size of the room and how much natural light you have. My personal opinion is if you put brown or green it would remind you too much of a pumpkin. Come to think of it some purples look excellent with orange too!!!

Chocolate brown works well with orange.
I'd use a soft shade of yellow to offset the orange.
I'd use soft yellows and greens. Anything too bright wouldn't blend well, in my opinion.
Turquoise should look nice.





Other choices are brown, cream, white and maybe sage green.
I think brown would look good.
